About
What is First Bar?
There is no big background story to the name really. It came about at a public restroom in a ski resort when two of my good friends and I were lined up at the sinks, chatting away through the mirror and then realizing how much we look like a Cingular/AT&T commercial. I am the shortest among my friends, and from then on I was dubbed the โfirst barโ (among many other similar nicknames).
I was born and raised in the beautiful Republic of the Philippines, left for the United States at 23 with a suitcase and a degree in architecture, and am currently living my expat life as an architectural designer here in the Pacific Northwest. Seattle has been my home since I officially moved here in 2005, and I have quickly grown to love this city, the people and the culture. And yes, even the rain too.
I initially started this blog to set up an online portfolio for my artwork, but along the way I have found myself channeling my creative energies elsewhere–in the world of crafting, sewing, graphic design and photography to name a few.
In a nutshell this blog has become my online journal/pin board/scrapbook of sorts where you will find notes and musings about the things that I love and the different hobbies that I get myself into whenever I don’t have my work hat on. And more importantly I hope I can offer up some creative inspiration to anyone who is looking for it.
YOU! Thank you so much for stopping by. Please make yourself at home.
that is so cool that you’re an architectural designer and have a passion for creativity! I am planning on college for architecture next year and my father is an architectural designer as well. Looking forward to seeing your posts! ๐
Hey Sarah! Looks like you’re having a lot of fun traveling. And great photos. I love traveling too, although I wish I could do more of it. Best of luck with college!
Congratulations!
