The Penny Experiment

Penny Art #91 - Bowl of Hope (pen and ink, gray marker, watercolor, penny)

My friend Angie told me about this art project for a cause called the Penny Experiment Project. It’s one guy’s attempt to turn a penny he found on the street into 1 million dollars worth of food for food banks. He sold the found penny to a friend for 10 dollars, and then turned the 10 dollars into a thousand new pennies. For the first 100 pennies, he called 100 artists to create post card art which would each incorporate one single penny and a number between 1 and 100. Once all 100 postcards are completed, they will then be sold collectively, with 100% of the proceeds going to purchase food for food banks. I thought it was pretty cool and decided to take part.  This is my entry for the project which will be posted on the site soon (There are some pretty cool ones on there already!). Best of luck Jeffrey!
